It s exciting times within the Policy Group as we have implemented our new operating model, developed relationships with new Ministers and are working in a new high tech building. We are implementing changes to ensure our teams are fit-for-purpose and can deliver work programmes and expert policy and operational services to Ministers and across the Department.
We are looking for graduates wanting to start their policy career to join our Ministerial Advice team. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a team that is part of a diverse government agency. The team are one of the main interfaces with Ministers offices and manage a high workload across five Ministerial portfolios so you will get a great view of the Departments work.
Working as a graduate analyst you will have the opportunity to learn how to:
draft response to ministerial correspondence, OIA s and parliamentary questions (written and oral);
draft briefings to Ministers and learn how to complete a sound analysis of key issues and format for your audience; and
draft and collate Ministerial status reports.
Ideally you will have:
A can do attitude with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement;
A track record of working effectively in a team, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders;
The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure; and
A degree in the area of Public Policy, History, Law, Politics, Social Sciences, or another relevant subject.
