Public Engagement sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department s epicentre of information management, culture and heritage. Our branch is all about collecting, storing, preserving and sharing important things that are precious to New Zealand.
Public Engagement is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team. As an Operations Coordinator you will contribute to the daily operation of our conference centre, events programme and exhibition spaces.
About the Role
Your role will be to work with the wider Operations team and contribute to the daily operation of our public spaces. You ll have the opportunity to work directly with customers, troubleshoot tech issues within our exhibition spaces and play a key role in the setup, pack down of events such as dinners, conferences, seminars and meetings.
As an Operations Coordinator you will be comfortable with AV technology such PA systems, mixing desks, microphones and projectors. You ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
To be successful in this role you will need
Proven customer service and/or hospitality experience
The ability to think creatively and find a solution under pressure
Experience with AV technology
A can-do attitude and strong organisational skills
