Do you have a talent for finding the right data and transforming it into valuable insights?  Do you want to help make a difference to how New Zealanders experience digital government?

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to use their data analysis expertise to identify trends and help answer key questions, solve problems and support informed decision-making to support internal and external stakeholders and agency customers.

As part of the newly-formed Agency Partnerships and Capability group within the Digital Public Service Branch, you will know how to use data analytics, data visualization and data modeling techniques and technologies to best effect to provide the business and its stakeholders with important insights and findings. 

We want someone who:

  • is skilled in gathering and understanding business requirements from a range of stakeholders
  • knows how to take a strategic, system-wide view of business issues and opportunities, and can use data to formulate concepts and ideas that make sense to people
  • can discover patterns, meaningful relationships, and anomalies and trends in data, and then express those creatively and simply to create new and powerful insights
  • is adept at using graphical and other visualisation techniques to help technical and non-technical audiences understand the data and what it represents

In this role you will have the opportunity to identify and take the lead on new solutions to improve business performance, and to advise the business about the critical role that Business Intelligence processes, practices and technologies have in improving business management and optimisation.
