Executive Director, Office of Ethnic Communities

We are looking for a dynamic leader, experienced in connecting and influencing others to achieve results to lead the Office of Ethnic Communities (OEC).  OEC has recently undergone a period of change and growth, and has a wide mandate working in a complex and rewarding environment.

Reporting to the Chief Executive of DIA, you will shape and position the Office of Ethnic Communities to advance positive outcomes for ethnic communities.  You will champion and promote their inclusion and participation in our community, and the value of diversity for New Zealand as a whole.

To achieve this, you will build strong relationships with leaders across ethnic communities and in the public sector.  You will facilitate connections and seek opportunities for collaboration.  As a leader in the public sector, you will gain the confidence of Ministers and provide them with robust advice.

We re looking for a leader who is passionate about working with, and on behalf of, ethnic communities to make a difference. You will understand the dynamics of the political environment and be confident in carving out a path which is informed by engagement and has wide support.  Your people will be your greatest asset – together, you and your team will demonstrate leadership and make a real impact for ethnic communities.

If you believe you have the drive and foresight to take the lead and deliver real change in this role, we would very much like to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. We recognise a diverse workforce contributes to better business outcomes. We are committed to creating a workplace where all employees have equal access.
