Opportunity to make a difference working with the New Zealand charitable sector

Ngā Ratonga Kaupapa Atawhai Charities Services is part of the Department of Internal Affairs, and administers the Charities Act 2005.

In Charities Services we promote trust and confidence in charities, encourage good governance, support charities efficiency and effectiveness, and require charities to comply with their obligations under the law. We register and monitor charities and build sector capability. Our vision is a well-governed, transparent and thriving charitable sector with strong public support.

As one of our Customer Support Officers, you need to have:

  • an eye for detail and ability to methodically follow processes
  • a flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to quickly learn a variety of tasks
  • a commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • good communication skills (for phone and email)
  • a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to contribute to, and support, effective strategies in achieving responsiveness to Māori

Due to parental leave, an opportunity has arisen to join the Customer Support team in Charities Services until 16 July 2021. This is a small and extremely busy team that processes applications and annual returns submitted by charities, and responds to numerous queries from charities and members of the public.

If you re looking for a new role in a busy and fun team, then Charities Services could be the place for you.
