Principal Advisor Regulatory System Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism – Wellington

Keeping New Zealand in Business for Good

  • Be a trusted advisor and thought leader in the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML) Group.
  • Help lead a diverse, multi-discipline group that supervises AML/CFT sectors to protect New Zealand businesses from being used by criminals to launder money and finance terrorism.
  • Use your intellectual A-game and advisory expertise to help shape New Zealand’s AML/CFT agenda and drive an international work programme.

We are Regulatory Services and we are one of the New Zealand Government’s larger regulatory bodies. We promote effective regulatory outcomes in three broad systems: anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism, gambling and digital safety.

This is an opportunity to be part of a fast paced, dynamic, modern regulator and leadership team driving change to make a difference to people’s lives.

Utilise your regulatory experience, influence change, drive innovation and improve outcomes for New Zealanders

Reporting to the Director AML, you will provide thought leadership, analysis and advice and actively manage national and international relationships to support effective regulatory outcomes. You need to be outcome focussed, adaptable and be experienced in driving change.

You will have:

  • Strong understanding of a regulatory system approach and the NZ public sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex relationships with diverse partners and stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Strategic capability to think beyond immediate issues and consider broader implications.
  • Proven ability to influence and facilitate change, drive innovation and improve outcomes.

We are an equal opportunity employer offering workplace flexibility and we value diversity and inclusion. We recognise a diverse workforce contributes to better business outcomes.
