DIA is looking for 2 policy analysts/graduate policy analysts to join its ministerial advice team. The team is one of the main interfaces with Ministers offices and manages a high workload across seven Ministerial portfolios.  The team is responsible for:

  • Preparing briefings and speeches for Ministers on a wide range of issues;
  • Preparing responses to ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions and Official Information Act requests;
  • Liaising with Ministers offices and other teams across the branch and Department.

We are looking for people with good writing skills, ability to juggle multiple pieces of work and good time management. For the analyst role you need experience in the areas noted above. This is an opportunity to learn about the machinery of government and provide services to ministers across a range of the Department s work. You will need: 

  • Good writing skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple pieces of work often with short deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships across the department and at all levels
  • Excellent time management and organisation
