Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. The Information and Safety Group sits within the Organisational Capability and Services Branch, a branch dedicated to supporting the rest of the Department to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within the Department to make the best contribution to New Zealand. 

You will work with the General Manager Information & Safety and Manager, Security & Risk as well as the I&S leadership team. The Personal Assistant role covers a range of administrative and organisation support tasks. The General Manager and Manager, Security & Risk both have very busy schedules so time management and the ability to prioritise well is required. Experience in a similar role is preferred.

We are looking for someone who enjoys contributing to the success of a team and will provide additional support across the team as required. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the successful candidates will display a high level of agility and adaptability to the changing needs of the team and the leadership team.  

You’ll always be two steps ahead, anticipating what is required and when, whilst ensuring that tasks are completed to a high level. To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) 
  • Sound relationship management skills 
  • Wide ranging knowledge of administration systems and processes  
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively 
  • The legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
