As part of the Departmental Priorities team in Policy, Regulatory and Communities you will have the opportunity to contribute to supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of New Zealand communities, and provide advice and support to our Ministers in Government.

The Departmental Priorities team has just been created to deliver policy projects that are needed to ensure that our Regulatory and Operational teams can continue to operate effectively. The team will be undertaking work in the following areas:

  • Updating regulations and bylaws relating to the Department s regulatory functions;
  • Undertaking reviews of fees and charging regulations relating to third party revenue; and
  • Providing early policy input into service delivery priorities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification with a degree in policy, economics, science, commerce or other relevant fields (e.g. research);
  • Excellent communication, research and analytical skills;
  • Critical thinking skills;
  • Team player skills which will allow you to contribute to a supportive team environment
