The Digital Public Service branch supports the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) to bring about a modern adaptive public service with the skills, technology and data to operate at pace and to meet changing needs. This work is critical to creating the platform for government to respond to people s expectations for faster, more agile, accessible and integrated digital services.
Director Planning Performance and Support
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Director Planning Performance and Support. As one of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director Planning, Performance & Support holds joint accountability for leading change across the public service to enable a system shift to a Digital Public Service.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will be accountable for the development and governance of the Branch-wide work programme, acting as the funnel for all mandated priorities and guiding the SLT to prioritise, commission and/or decommission work as appropriate. Leading the development of appropriate measures and reporting procedures, the Director is also accountable for providing oversight and visibility of progress against all initiatives (lead, support, deliver) in the wider GCDO work programme. The Director also leads branch corporate accountability and compliance activity to support organisational performance and is the lead for the GCDO s international leadership role, ensuring effective strategic engagement with international bodies and stakeholders.
As the successful candidate you will have proven leadership experience in a senior public or private sector environment as well as excellent strategic, partnership and engagement skills. With a highly developed understanding of governance, measurement and performance frameworks and models, you will be highly resilient and comfortable in robust discussions. You will be an experienced people leader, known for engagement and inspiring high performance from your teams.
