The Role

This is an exciting opportunity based in Timaru, to join our team right at the beginning of a new era for nursing education. This role will involve teaching in theory, and clinical courses in Mental Health and Addictions in the Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice and / or at postgraduate level including the Master of Nursing. The successful applicant will work with a team of staff who are experienced nurse educators. Participating in research projects is an expectation of all staff and the level of involvement in research can be negotiated as part of the role.



  • Registered Nurse with current New Zealand Practicing Certificate
  • A degree in Nursing qualification, preferably a master’s degree in Nursing or related discipline
  • Current discipline knowledge
  • A minimum of three years full time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
  • Clinical and educational qualifications and skills that support teaching of general nursing or mental health and addictions.
  • A broad range of clinical practice and skills.
