The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health offers a range of programmes from entry level through to master’s degrees for those working in or seeking careers in the wider health and wellbeing sectors. These include Certificate level and programmes in Health and Wellbeing, the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing, Bachelor’s Degrees in Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Medical Imaging, Osteopathy and Applied Sciences, Graduate Certificate and Diploma programmes and Postgraduate Certificates, Diplomas and Master’s Degrees in Health Science and Nursing. The Department has over 1500 full time equivalent students and a staff of over 100 highly qualified professionals, many of whom are active researchers. Programmes are offered at Manawa, the City campus and in Timaru.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to contribute to social work and support worker education in programmes underpinned by principles of social justice, bicultural practice and empowering others to promote personal and social change. The major focus of this role will be teaching the NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4, with potential to oversee Bachelor’s in Social Work placements (BSW) in Timaru.
The successful applicant will work with a team of staff who are experienced social work educators. This role ideally would suit a social worker who is passionate about practice and has an excellent reputation as a professional. This role may also appeal to an experienced educator or someone new to social work education who is seeking a change in the direction of their career.
