About us

The Clinical Records team at Dunedin Public Hospital play a vital role behind the scenes. We ensure that health records are accurately stored, maintained and available quickly when needed.

About the opportunity

This fast paced role has a strong focus on records and information management including paper patient records, use of electronic systems and interactions with health professionals both internal and external to the Southern DHB.

We are looking for a reliable, positive, dynamic person to join our team working Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm. There is an expectation to cover shifts if required. Upon starting you will receive comprehensive training to support your development. This is a full-time, permanent position so you will have plenty of opportunity to succeed and advance within the role, eventually being able to provide cover and expertise across the full Clinical Records service.

About you

You will have a proven ability to deal with confidential/sensitive information, strong communication skills (oral and written) and be a reliable and enthusiastic team player with the ability to multitask.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:

  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Strong attention to detail at all times
  • A positive, can-do/problem solving attitude
  • Relevant administrative work experience
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology would be a bonus

The salary for this position is between $43,720 and $46,740 per annum as per the DHBs/Public Service Association Collective Agreement, and will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
