Advisor, Implementation – Full-Time, Permanent position (2x Positions available)

 

At Tāhū o te Ture – the Ministry of Justice – we work together for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

We’re seeking an Advisor to join our Implementation team in the Commissioning and Service Improvement Unit (CSI). In CSI, we work to support the delivery of positive change in the justice system for a safe and fair Aotearoa.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a good understanding of the justice sector. If you have direct experience working in the court or tribunal environment, then that would be a real advantage
  • Has some knowledge of, and experience in project management disciplines, tools and activities
  • Has an awareness of parliament’s legislative change process
  • Is proactive, professional and adaptable
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex messages clearly, simply and concisely
  • Displays a can-do attitude, and the ability to independently complete allocated project activities.

 

About the team

The Implementation team works closely with the Ministry’s Policy Group to implement policy and legislative changes agreed by Parliament. We work on a range of different issues that impact how NZ justice services operate day to day, and how participants experience the justice system. The mahi we do can have a big impact on how people experience our justice system, often at one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

Some of our current projects include improving the information and resources available to people making Care of Children Act applications in the Family Court and implementing changes to the Residential Tenancies Amendment Act that impact the Tenancy Tribunal and how it operates.

 

About the position

As the successful applicant you will have the opportunity to manage unique stakeholder relationships, including staff across the Ministry of Justice that work in a range of different areas.

Your work will involve understanding how new legislation impacts on our front-line services and working closely with those teams to prepare them for any changes to how they deliver their services to our customers.

This is a varied role and involves interpreting legislation, developing project documents and information design, development and delivery.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in National Office. The salary range for the role is $61,744 – $87,167 depending on skills and experience.
