Strategic advisory roles at the centre of government

The Strategy Unit in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet is responsible for advising the Prime Minister on medium-term strategic issues.  This is an opportunity to work at the centre of government and be involved in strategy formulation.

We are seeking experienced advisory professionals to advise on, and from time to time, lead work on key areas of strategic importance.

Ideal candidates will have advanced tertiary qualifications and extensive experience advising senior decision makers on strategy or policy. To be considered for these roles you will have strong policy analysis skills, the intellectual capacity to see connections between issues and across time, and the analytical agility to work across a broad range of topics.  You will be comfortable working in a high autonomy environment, dealing with high degrees of ambiguity and uncertainty, and exercising discretion and judgement. You will be a thought leader as well as a leader of people.  You will have a track record in building high trust relationships and in working with others to solve problems constructively.

To be eligible for this position, you must be able to attain and maintain an appropriate security clearance. Secondments from other government agencies are welcomed.
