The Team: What we do

Our team at Christchurch Hospital are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our Occupational Therapy team! We’re a passionate and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapy Clinicians and Assistants who provide assessment, treatment and support to people in a hospital environment.

Our team of Allied Health Assistants carry out a range of activities that are integral in supporting our clinicians in ensuring the best health outcomes for our patients.

Working under the supervision of our Registered Occupational Therapists, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in healthcare! The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Completing tasks assigned and supervised by our registered Occupational Therapists
  • Dropping off and setting up therapy equipment in the community
  • Clerical/reception duties as required including record keeping and updating patient files where appropriate

Your skills will include the following:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds
  • The ability to take direction and carry out tasks autonomously
  • An acute awareness and respect for the importance of patient confidentiality
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment in a time of change
  • A background in health and inpatient work is advantageous
  • As there may be the requirement to visit patient’s homes in the community, a full NZ driver’s licence is essential
