The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) plays a critical role in regulating capital markets and financial services in New Zealand and providing better outcomes for investors, customers, participants, and for the New Zealand economy.
The Strategy and Stakeholder Relations team is responsible for the development of FMA’s regulatory strategy, provides a strategic intelligence capability, and maintains Government and Industry relations.
We currently have an opportunity for an Analyst to join this busy team providing high-quality research, analysis and strategic intelligence gathering, and contribute to the engagement and development of the FMA’s strategic objectives.
You will build an understanding of the diverse elements of New Zealand’s financial markets though undertaking a wide range of research and in-depth analysis. This will include scanning the environment to identify regulatory risks and harms as part of ongoing monitoring through our sector view framework. You will also work across Government agencies, supporting coordination for input into the Council for Financial Regulators workstreams.
Key to your success in this role will be your analytic experience, with well-developed problem solving skills, and your ability to build strong, positive relationships. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., economics, finance) and/or financial services background, and be able to juggle multiple priorities.
