We’re looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting company.

  • Lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks, habits and support structures for our current and future analytical applications in collaboration with specialists from the Data team plus Legal, Risk and Security
  • Work with our development teams, to co-create a best practice approach to embedding ethical thinking into the way we design and build analytics and data products across Xero
  • Ensure our emerging governance frameworks continually balance delivery of more insightful products and services, with continued adherence to our Responsible Data Use Commitments
  • Deliver pragmatic and measurable education and behavioral change efforts across the company to uplift awareness of and adherence to these governance frameworks.
  • Establish an ethics practice within Xero with a focus on the ethical usage of data and the ethical application of machine learning and artificial intelligence including considerations of fairness, accountability, transparency, bias and ‘right of reply’ and explain ability in automated decision making
  • Lead the thinking around our approach to regulatory affairs and risk management in the realm of analytical applications and machine learning technologies.
  • Remain up to date with relevant technology and policy changes and trends and continually grow a knowledge of how they may impact Xero
  • Taking a product-thinking approach to processes so they remain valid and valuable for all
  • Consulting skills around shaping the problem space, structured thinking and analysis, communications and influence
  • Strong personal credibility and leadership skills; can comfortably lead senior leaders through difficult trade-off discussions and creatively drive consensus
  • Successfully builds trust with stakeholders and working relationships across the business
  • Drives engagement, education and delivers sustainable change
  • Takes #ownership of problems and executes a pragmatic and collaborative approach to their resolution
