We are looking for an Application Support Specialist to join our busy team and contribute to the delivery of NIWA’s meteorological and environmental forecasting services by developing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining the broadcast graphics/spatial software and hardware used by NIWA.
The key purpose of this position is to support our use of Visual Cortex software, but it will also involve the configuration, development, and maintenance of the wider weather visualisation platform.
A qualification in spatial information systems, information technology science or computer science and/or relevant experience in spatial/graphics software or an IT administration role is required. Experience in Linux, application support and/or Git source control systems is preferred, while a degree in meteorology and/or a WMO forecasting qualification is an advantage.
