Do you have experience working with challenging people with complex needs?

Would a part-time role, working every Saturday and Sunday suit you?

In Canterbury there are residential facilities for high risk offenders who are subject to orders following the end of their custodial sentence (including extended supervision orders, intensive monitoring orders or public protection orders). These facilities are designed to assist individuals to develop important life skills within a supportive and supervised environment in order to successfully reintegrate back into the community.

Key to the success of this role will be your ability to supervise, motivate and positively influence those in residence while working as a part of a small team. In addition, your ability to maintain clear and professional boundaries at all times, provide practical solutions to day to day issues, manage risk and effectively communicate with people at all levels is essential to the success of this role.

Reporting directly to a Residence Manager, this position is a part-time role working 20 hours every weekend on a Saturday and Sunday day shift (10 hours per day).

A typical shift as an Assistant Residence Supervisor will see you:

  • Working cooperatively with residents to help them achieve their reintegrative goals;
  • Monitoring residents, both within the residences and on community outings, to promote public safety through the safe management and supervision of each individual resident;
  • Supporting and participating in residents’ rehabilitative and reintegrative activities
  • Modelling pro-social behaviour

If you pride yourself on your ability to provide a high standard of care, you have strong written communication skills, solid experience managing individuals with challenging and complex needs and you want to make a positive difference to community safety, then we want to hear from you.

The salary bracket for this role is $56,100 – $60,776 (based on 40 hours per week) and note the job closes on Thursday 27th February 2020.
