What you will do

You will be responsible for providing technical advice on tri-service operational equipment and advice on the management of vehicles and equipment. You’ll develop cost effective solutions that are operationally feasible and safe within the bounds of the required engineering, regulatory, maintenance and other relevant technical standards, and assure that equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use.

Please note: This is a 3 year fixed term opportunity.
What we need

Your practical experience as a diesel vehicle mechanic in a workshop setting, where you’ll hold an Advanced Trade Certificate (Level 5, or equivalent), a current NZ Class 1 and 2 driver’s licence, and understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) or asset management in areas such as technical/engineering support, preventative maintenance, technical/trade training, supply chain management and safety assurance.

In order to be successful in this role you’ll also need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to conduct robust research and use your initiative.

The Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO) is a single point of accountability for the through-life management of specified equipment across the Land, Air and Maritime environments thereby ensuring that all equipment receives consistent strategic logistic support whilst in service in the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). It is responsible for the day to day delivery of through life Integrated Logistic Support and management of equipment to enable the NZDF to meet its business and operational objectives to the appropriate standards.
