About Immigration Border Operations
The Border and Visa Operations branch is accountable for high quality and timely visa and border entry decisions. We facilitate legitimate passengers and work to manage risk at the earliest possible point by working collaboratively with other teams in INZ and international partners.
About the Role
Border Officers work a 24 hour 7 day a week operation and the Border Managers work in a rostered basis (rostered weekends / on-call roster) across that timeframe.
Border Managers are responsible for day to day front-line leadership and management of the operational teams located at the Border. Immigration have staff located at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown airports.
Border Managers are responsible for building and enhancing the overall capability at the border, to ensure quality and consistency of advice and practices in our efforts to keep risk off-shore and facilitating legitimate travellers at New Zealand’s international airports.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or New Zealand permanent residents and be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.
