Mō te tūnga | About the role

Due to internal promotion, we are looking for our next Business Analyst to join the Business Solutions team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa.  Sitting within our Design & Implementation Group, our team’s role is to assist the business by managing and delivering functional changes to offender management systems.

As the Business Analyst, you will closely support the Manager Business Solutions to facilitate identification of business needs, reviewing functional requirements with key stakeholders and helping to design documents and IT deliverables that will result in change.  Using your well-developed analytical and communication skills, you will ensure the necessary business requirements gathered are translated and articulated into clear technical solutions that will enable our Technology staff to develop and deliver the changes.  You will also be involved in conducting user testing acceptance and providing recommendations for the Manager, as well as supporting a variety of other business as usual activities related to our main systems, contributing to continuous improvement.

To balance this, your well-developed communication skills are key – particularly your strong written ability to collate and articulate requirements from a business point of view into clear technical solutions.  Your proven ability to plan and organise tasks, achieve quality results and meet set deadlines will round off your profile.

This is a brilliant development opportunity within the world of business analysis where you will work closely alongside the Manager and a team of Senior Analysts – they value knowledge sharing and will offer day-to-day guidance and mentoring to you in order to develop your capability to the next level.
