What you will do

As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for the development, analysis and management of assigned capability project requirements, and provide support towards validating that they have been met. This will include a variety of projects of all sizes and complexities that will be assigned based on organisational priorities and the individual’s skills, experience and preferences.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs, expectations and preferences;
  • Developing requirements documents that clearly articulate a project’s scope;
  • Maintaining configuration and change control of project requirements;
  • Providing direction, support and advice to project team members;
  • Acting as an advocate for the Defence Requirements Framework and supporting its continuous improvement.

Please note: The formal title for this role within NZDF is Senior Requirements Lead.

What we need

In order to be successful in this role, you will have the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding, and at times, to reconcile conflicting perspectives.

You will also have:

  • 3+ years proven experience working on complex projects within a requirements management, business analysis or other analytical role;
  • A good understanding of business analysis methods, tools and techniques;
  • The ability to critically analyse complex problems and assess multiple options before making recommendations;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trusting relationships and inspire others; and
  • An understanding of project and change management methodologies.
