What you will do

As the Business Analyst you will be responsible for the identification, analysis, design, development and delivery of effective business, technology and user solutions.  You will work closely with key stakeholders and system and policy owners, leading the identification of requirements, priorities and fit for purpose process, policy, system and organisational solutions, to better support NZDF logistics.

You will develop and use of a range of practical and effective business analysis and user experience tools and approaches that enable effective decision making, stakeholder and business owner confidence and the successful delivery of organisational initiatives.

What we need

To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic, business and technology professional who has:

  • A sound understanding of how businesses operate and change and experience in the use of a wide range of effective business analysis modelling and decision making methods, including user experience evaluation and improvement;
  • Experience in developing effective business and technical documentation e.g. business cases, requirements, process maps;
  • A good understanding of the business and solution development processes including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile;
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical problem solving skills including the ability to make sense of large amounts of complex information ;
  • Good relationship management, engagement and communication skills, including the ability to adjust to different audiences and situations.

Who we are

The roles will initially report into the Consolidated Logistics Project (CLP).  CLP is charged with initiating, driving, co-ordinating and delivering a series of activities required to transform the delivery of logistics within the NZDF.  You will be required to work closely with other members of the Project, logistics community and other stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions, which will involve considering process, organisation, technology and information changes and impacts.

Over the next year a Business Enhancement and Sustainment Capability will be established at which time these roles may become part of that capability and transition into the business.  This is an exciting time to be part of establishing and building new capability for the NZDF and to deliver significant tangible outcomes.

The role is fixed term for two years with plenty of room to expand your professional skills and work across a variety of initiatives.
