About MBIE:

The purpose of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is to Grow New Zealand for All. Our goal is to create a strong and high-performing economy by creating an environment that supports businesses to become more productive and internationally competitive

Visa Services 2020 is a customer excellence programme within Immigration New Zealand (INZ) that is being implemented over a 3 year period. With enhanced digital technology and bringing more work onshore the outcome for our customers will be a more accurate, consistent and timely service.

Our Striking the Balance strategy emphasises INZ’s role as a regulator in the face of increasing external threats to the integrity of the immigration system. In addition to making it easy to understand and use the New Zealand immigration system, we must also deter misuse. As a result INZ is being realigned into eight branches.

We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Performance and Reporting team based in our Wellington office.

As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for providing advice and support including reporting, performance planning, and responding to requests for data from across the organisation. You will also work closely with Business Analysts across INZ to ensure consistency of approach to processes and tools.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide analytical support and advice to management across various business areas within the INZ
  • Provide reporting within INZ
