Our Operational Policy team sits in the heart of Immigration New Zealand and has significant influence on the future direction of immigration policies and initiatives.As a Business Analyst/Senior Business Analyst in the Operational Policy team within the Enablement Branch, you will have an important role in analysing a range of aspects of New Zealand’s immigration system and operational policy settings, and contribute to decision making to optimise INZ’s operating model. If you are not currently a Business Analyst but have an analytical background coupled with strong Immigration subject matter expertise then please apply.A key part of your work will be implementing policy changes, including designing operational policy solutions and writing immigration instructions and related publications. In addition, Senior Business Analysts are expected to take responsibility for and provide thought leadership to significant projects. To be successful in this position, you will have: Excellent writing skills, including experience in writing for Ministers.Knowledge of New Zealand’s immigration operating environment or relevant experience in a similar position.Understanding or experience in business analysis, influencing policy design and implementing operational policy.Understanding or experience with business processes.The ability to use software packages including word processing, Excel, and analytical tools. The ability to work with numbers and cost out options to support recommendations with quantitative data.The ability to work within a team environment and establish working relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.You will also hold a tertiary qualification or possess equivalent experience in business process design.Knowledge of the New Zealand public sector and the mechanics of government.Good knowledge of legislative frameworks is an advantage.
