The Supply Chain Business Analyst is a critical role which supports all the Royal New Zealand Air Force Supply Chain fleets.

What you will do

As the Business Analyst – Supply Chain your focus will be on finance; you will assist with the analysis of financial planning options to achieve the most effective and efficient delivery of outputs aligned to finance.  You will also be responsible for:

  • Using appropriate methodologies to analyse costs and the financial impacts;
  • Documenting and maintaining costing/financial models of which the results inform operational decision-making;
  • Providing insight into product, process, output, and repair costs for performance management.  

What we need

In order to be successful in this role, you will be an effective communicator who can adapt their communication style to provide technical financial information to non-financial audiences both verbally and in writing. You will work as a key part of a team with the capacity to produce timely and accurate work under pressure.

You will also have:

  • Significant practical experience in a finance or accounting role;
  • Proven experience and knowledge of management accounting techniques;
  • Well-developed research and financial problem solving skills;
  • A high level of computer literacy within the Microsoft Office Suite with a specific focus on Excel;
  • Experience with the SAP ERP system (desirable).

You will ideally have a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or other related area. At a minimum, you should have a proven track record of working as a business/financial analyst.

Who we are

Supply Chain is responsible for the procurement of aeronautical spares and the management of aeronautical repairs for all RNZAF aircraft fleets. This is achieved by managing the RNZAF supply chain (internally and externally) to meet operational and maintenance requirements. It includes the development and ongoing management of the aircraft maintenance budget, the CP Rotable budget and the inventory budget. It also involves ongoing contractor management with key Maintenance Repair & Overhaul organisations, and purchasing vendors, both domestically and around the world.
