Auckland Zoo is a not-for-profit wildlife conservation science organisation, dedicated to bringing people together to build a future for wildlife.
The Business Development Manager is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a passion for retail sales and catering, sponsorship and fundraising and, of course, wildlife! This dynamic role reports to the Head of Brand Experience and Business Development and focuses on four key areas:
• The Zoo’s retail experience – onsite and online
• Managing key commercial relationships, particularly catering, functions and events
• Sponsorship and fundraising – Overseeing the Zoo’s sponsorship portfolio and key fundraising initiatives
• Commercial performance of paid for Zoo experiences such as learning sessions, VIP experiences, birthday parties, etc.

You will be someone who is passionate about wildlife and cares deeply about the world around you. You want the opportunity to use your business development expertise to make a real difference.
You will be an experienced people and relationship manager with a proven track record in at least one of the following disciplines:
o Sponsorship and relationship management
o Retail sales and catering
o Functions and events sales and bookings

Please note: The role is working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week; however, some flexibility is required as there will be occasional work outside of business hours.
