As a Business Development Manager, you’ll build strong relationships with advisers and other financial services providers to ensure they receive the highest service while seeking to identify new opportunities for growth. You’ll be someone who is energetic and enjoys accountability and is ambitious and purpose driven with a love for driving results. This is a home based role and there will be travel required covering the lower South Island region. Key responsibilities: Generate sales that are profitable for the assigned portfolio. Develop and deliver retention activities and identify cross-sell opportunities. Develop and implement strategies to identify and obtain new producers who are acquired profitably. Seek to understand adviser business drivers and strategic objectives and assist in their annual planning process. Be an active AIA brand ambassador and influencer both internally and externally, to ensure the brand profile is elevated and key relationships strengthened. Foster relationships internally to ensure that service issues are addressed proactively. Keep advisers up to date with business changes and ensure they receive the required training. Generate ideas for campaigns to market and provide networking opportunities for advisers. Provide active feedback and analysis on market and industry trends and participate in and make recommendations for product development initiatives. Generate and analyse monthly sales reports on current and future sales activity in conjunction with the Distribution Analyst. Ensure that the advisers within your panel are adhering to the required Conduct and Culture requirements within the FAA. Manage adviser complaints and risk, taking into consideration role relevant elements including: data quality, credit provisions, operational losses, incident identification, and compliance with policy and delegated authorities. About you: Ideally, you’ll have been an adviser in the life and health insurance industry and have an understanding of the AIA product range and AIA Vitality Programme. You’ll have a solid track record of proven success in coaching for increased performance. You’ll have excellent relationship management experience and be an effective people influencer. Strong negotiation skills. Demonstrate the ability to adapt to a dynamic, changing environment and make an immediate impact through a proactive nature, high energy level and credible experience.
