Our vision is to create a unique partnership with every New Zealander, improving their quality of life by minimising the incidence and impact of injury.

The Enterprise Business Rules team within BPI supports ACC’s business rule processes and capabilities. Business rules at ACC are integral to building staff and customer confidence in our organisation, ensuring we are making consistent, reproducible, and justified decisions in all our interactions with clients, customers, and one another.

Due to an internal move, we are looking for someone to join us for an initial three-month secondment/fixed-term or inter-agency secondment.

The Business Rules Specialist role is a great opportunity to develop skills in business concept and decision modelling, writing and tabulation for business rules, and to develop or extend capabilities in process modelling and improvement.

Some of the key functions of this role include:

  • making the connection between legislation, policies, and processes to analyse and document the underlying rules
  • assisting change initiatives across the business with concept modelling and decision analysis to identify and clarify their rules
  • coordinating the review and approval of new rules or rule changes
  • updating and maintaining the business rules in our platforms.

There may also be opportunities to support improvement initiatives and projects as required as part of building your capability in the business rules space.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Have an excellent ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the business
  • A knack for distilling the key information in a given context, and for organising concepts logically
  • Get a kick out of helping people, taking them on a journey and getting to the ‘aha!’ moment with them
  • Excellent communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • You want to make a difference in the way services are delivered to the people of New Zealand
  • Awareness of business rules, and/or DMN, BPMN, or other modelling notation standards would be beneficial but not essential

At ACC, we recognise that diversity, inclusion and accessibility are important to our business, our people and our customers. We embrace the unique perspective and capabilities of our people now and into the future who help us continue to build a culture of involvement, respect and connection for our people and with all New Zealand

We would love to hear from you if you feel you are a good fit – applications will only be accepted when formally submitted through our ACC Career Website online, through to the closing date Sunday, 23 February 2020.

Applications will run through to the closing date, but please note that if an ideal candidate is found during this time we may move forward with screening and interviewing.
