What you will do

The Business Support Coordinator provides a wide range of business support to NZDF Public Affairs, including remote staff.

The focus of this role includes:

  • Providing support to the Director Defence Public Affairs (DDPA), and the Creative Services team;
  • The production, distribution and storage of information, correspondence, minutes, reports and other documentation for the Creative Services team;
  • Providing business support to the PA unit for activities across the shared service centre including the processing of invoices, travel and other support activities as required;
  • Providing assistance in the management of day to day human resources services for management team as required;
  • Ensuring there is consistency in the administrative systems and processes employed across the NZDF Public affairs;
  • Actively engaging with internal and external customers.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual who has an autonomous working style.  You will be excellent at both written and verbal communications and understand the value of building relationships with others across the organisation.

You must have:

  • The ability to prioritise and manage task to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Excellent organisation skills, and be able to apply these methodically;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate across all levels.

Through the provision of creative services (including content development, editing, imagery, and design), digital expertise, marketing, media relations, and business partnership, the group provides for the integration of all NZDF public affairs activity.   • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
