We are looking for an experienced Business Support Co-ordinator with at least five years’ experience working in a similar role.  The position supports the delivery of educational services within the Bay of Plenty Waiariki Region.


The primary purpose of the role is to work with the Business Support Manager co-ordinating business support services across the region. This is a diverse and hands on role requiring the ability to operate with a high level of initiative, problem solving, train team members and analyse processes and systems. The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Advanced operational skills in the areas of Employment Relations, State Sector Act 1988, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Good interpersonal skills, exceptional written and oral communication skills and a knowledge of the various work streams within the Ministry of Education
  • A strong ability to work well with others across all levels of the organisation
  • A commitment to continue improvement and having a strong customer service approach to everything they do
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel and Word
  • The ability to work unsupervised while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Experience in human resources or recruitment administration
  • Experience in providing executive assistant support
  • Strong time management skills
  • A current driver’s licence
  • A positive attitude
