What you will do

As the Business Support Coordinator within the Heritage, Commemorations and Protocol (HCP) Group you’ll provide a wide range of business support to HCP staff including:

  • Providing general business support including secretarial support, resource management and the processing of credit cards, invoices and travel;
  • Assist in the management of the unit’s financial management including visit, event and project budgets and effective reporting;
  • Managing the administration requirements for NZDF personnel travelling to support overseas military commemorations or related activities;
  • Managing the coordination of requests and tasking of NZDF support for Anzac Day across New Zealand.

What we need

Our ideal candidate will have proven administration, basic accounting skills and experience providing a high standard of customer service and support to a number of people. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail critical to your success in this role. You’ll need to be able to display a high level of initiative, work independently and effectively manage changing priorities.
Who we are
The Heritage, Commemorations and Protocol (HCP) Group is the Chief of Defence Force’s:

  • Principal policy advisor on NZDF’s military and tikanga ceremonial protocols, its heritage and medallic recognition;
  • Planning and delivery lead for the organisation of New Zealand’s overseas military commemorations and NZDF support to state and national occasions: and
  • Organisational lead for CDF-hosted senior military visits and specified activities.

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
