What you will do

As a Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients providing services to veterans and their families who receive entitlements and services from Veterans’ Affairs. You are the conduit between the veteran and Veterans’ Affairs, and provide access to entitlements, services and rehabilitation programs. 

As part of this role, you will be:

  • Undertaking assessments and determine outcomes through an integrated approach;
  • Working closely with rehabilitation advisors, treatment providers and service providers;
  • Developing veteran’s rehabilitation plans providing a planned approach to achieve tangible outcomes, including elements of assessment and monitoring; and
  • Providing exceptional customer service skills, while handling each query with sensitivity, respect, and understanding through a number of communication channels.
  • What we need

    This is a fast paced role requiring someone who thrives in a dynamic and busy environment. Your effective time management and organisational skills will enable you to handle complex issues with ease and you’re good at making considered decisions under pressure while displaying sound judgement.

    You will also have:

  • Significant experience as a Case Manager or at least 3-5 years’ relevant experience providing excellent customer service or managing your own portfolio of clients; 
  • Ideally a health/clinical and/or military background and will be knowledgeable about vocational rehabilitation with an understanding of medical terminology;
  • Proven knowledge and experience of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles;
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across an organisation; and
  • The ability to manage your work autonomously while engaging with the wider team. 
  • Please note: This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity.
