Casual hours, as and when required
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Hauraki Thames Coromandel District Nursing team primarily based in THAMES / PAEROA AREA in a casual position. This entails back-filling staff shortages and other leave gaps.
The District Nurse Service provides services 7 days a week 0800-1630hrs and can include on call after hours from 1630–0800hrs for select patients. You may be required to accommodate after hours on call requirements which may involve call outs. This role is not suitable for a new graduate nurse.
Rural District Nursing provides a wide variety of care including long term medical conditions, home based palliative and end of life care, advanced IV management and chronic wound management within a multi-disciplinary environment inclusive of primary health care providers. An understanding of improving health outcomes is essential and an ability to work within a variety of social & cultural demographics. Our area covers a large geographical area and the ability to drive long distances during the work day is essential.
We work with many other health providers within the Community setting and relationship building is an essential part of our service. Familiarisation with and use of electronic devices and computer skills is an essential part of this role. An orientation programme will be provided.
