Category Manager- DataCorys Electrical, is an industry leader that employs exceptional people who share a passion to deliver the best products and services to our customers.With a focus on the future, a new opportunity has been created to implement category plans and lead supplier relationships that will set direction for the entire business.Are you the Person we are looking for?Our ideal candidate is someone capable of solving large-scale and complex business problems who brings their hard-work and passion to work every day.As Category Manager you would play a key role in driving sales and performance for your assigned product categories, both in terms of strategic category and supplier plan development with the goal of maximising profitability and financial performance within assigned product categories across the business.You will have the technical background to lead development of business solutions to meet the needs of our customers and achieve the strategic goals of our business. With high-level people and influencing skills, you will to work alongside first-rate technical staff and marketing and sales teams, to drive category performance outcomes.What does the Category Manager do?As a Category Manager you will:Manage and develop the Corys Cable Category StrategyDesign and develop future focussed range reviews, including target customer profiles and marketing, in branch execution and training to ensure market share growthNegotiate Trading Agreements with focus and approved suppliersMonitor the financial performance of all assigned products and understand multi-year strategies for growthActively monitor and manage slow moving and obsolescent stock; monitor supplier performance against shared objectives and targetsEngage with the pricing team, suppliers and branch staff to deliver customer pricing improvementsPrepare annual budget plans for categories and monitor performance on an ongoing basisAssist in forecasting and other measurement requirements; Global reporting and reports on supplier, category, and product performance as requiredWhat do you need to bring to Corys?Proven (5-10 years) experience in category or product management including inter-business relationship managementIdeally experience of the cabling industryHigh-level negotiation and influencing skillsOutstanding attention to detail as data accuracy in all aspects of the role is criticalExcellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritiseIntermediate proficiency with computer technology and systems (experience with BI software and MS Office Suite)Sound knowledge of marketing principlesExperience and knowledge of trade (both in distribution and end-customer environment)What’s in it for me?Evolve this new role as an integral part of our future successPart of a talented, dynamic team, with the opportunity to make a real difference for our customers, our branches and our business performanceA bright future – our five year plan focuses on people, growth and innovationCompetitive Remuneration packageAre you ready to make a difference?Apply now!If you would like to be considered for this role then please do so via the Apply Button, or call Nigel Beasley on 021 522 993 for more details.Galleon Recruitment reviews every CV that is emailed to us and manually matches it to the job requirements.
