The Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives provides specialist administrative and advisory services to Parliament.

As part of the Chamber and Meeting Support team, you’ll support the smooth running of the institution of Parliament by making sure that MPs have everything they need while in the Chamber and, if called on, supporting the activities of Hansard and Select Committees.

Our team works when Parliament sits, which is usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00pm to 10:00pm, and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, for approximately 30 weeks per year. Note that Parliament doesn’t usually sit during school holidays.

We’re looking for up to four casual staff who are available to work on an on-call basis.

For this role you’ll need to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, impartiality, and discretion. You’ll need to be a team player and also able to work independently.
