BE&S – Business Enablement and Support


We deliver well-connected, efficient and effective corporate services that enable our people to do their best work every day.

The essential services, support, tools and resources we provide help make the Ministry a great place to work.


The Business Improvement and Support team provides support and expertise to improve the performance of the group and manage change more effectively for our customers.  The key areas of focus are:

  • Support for Business case development,
  • Change Management and delivery,
  • Business Improvement and,
  • the provision of support and advice for the Deputy Secretary BE&S.

You will be able to support change initiatives across the Business Enablement and Support Group and within the Ministry. We are looking for your ability to work with sponsors, project leads and those being impacted by change, to plan, communicate and deliver change effectively, and efficiently with empathy and care.   You will be able to help others transition to new ways of working.

This role will be focused on supporting the Senior Responsible Owners and stakeholders in the successful delivery of change initiatives identified in the Business Enablement and Support Business Plan.

There may be a requirement to travel for some of these projects.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a passion for helping people with transitioning to new ways of working. A genuine interest in the opportunities created for people through working environments, flexible arrangements, technology, behavioural and culture change.

 You will also offer:

  • Previous experience providing change support and communications advice to a large change project.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting the change approach, planning the required work to deliver it, and measuring the outcomes achieved.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, change support material, including intranet, communications and printed resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change techniques and effective approaches for getting people change ready and then embedding the change.
  • Strong knowledge of how change people impacts and how this may vary.
  • Experience evaluating and assessing the impacts of change with stakeholders to and ability to provide solutions for managing impacts.
  • Experience using digital channels to communicate between people and projects through online surveys, discussion forums, polls and opinion pieces, including monitoring and managing online discussions.
  • A working knowledge of the business case development process and the ability to assess potential change impacts and input into Business Cases.
