In these regions (except Christchurch, Hastings and New Plymouth) we are the sole primary care and hospital provider of pathology services. In Christchurch, Hastings, and New Plymouth we provide primary care pathology services.About the Role:We are seeking applications for a permanent full-time Chemical Pathologist to fill a vacancy due to a retirement in Dunedin. As a key part of our Chemical pathology team you will:Work closely with our experienced staff to provide leadership of testing, review and validation of methods ensuring a high quality, efficient and accurate serviceProvide referrers with expert advice on clinical interpretation of test results and provide guidance on appropriate further investigations for patient managementProvide tuition to undergraduate and postgraduate clinical students and to medical laboratory scientistsProvide support, supervision, and training for other laboratories in the Southern Community Laboratories GroupProvide support to laboratories in their achieving and maintaining accredited status with International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ)Provide oversight for the review of internal quality control and external quality assurance dataBe required to participate in an out-of-hours rosterTo succeed in this role you will need:To be a Medical Practitioner who is registered with, or eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical CouncilTo be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, or be eligible for Fellowship within six months or have an equivalent qualification.To be highly motivated, able to develop strong working relationships with laboratory staff and clinicians, and capable of working with a supportive and dynamic teamOur teams consists of talented and skilled individuals, all of whom play an important role in helping us to be New Zealand’s leading provider of quality healthcare services.If you want to be part of a New Zealand success story please go to our websiteApplications close 31 August 2021
