Cpl Healthcare in partnership with the MidCentral District Health Board in New Zealand are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager (Charge Nurse) to join their team in Palmerston North.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Charge Nurse leads the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of patient focussed nursing care, enhancing co-ordination, continuity and collaboration within the interdisciplinary team and with families, facilitating excellence, promoting scholarship and enquiry, and improving health outcomes.

The Charge Nurse with the Nurse Director is responsible for leading the delivery of the nursing philosophy and Standards of Practice, individual performance development, identifying continuing education needs of nurses, and ongoing monitoring of performance development.

KEY COMPETENCIES

ESSENTIAL

  • Recent experience at Associate Charge Nurse level in an acute environment
  • Proven knowledge and experience in surgical nursing
  • Level 4 PDRP or evidence to show working towards that level
  • Competent computer skills
  • Recognised by peers as a leader of nursing practice and staff
  • Recent experience in surgical or emergency nursing
  • Evidence of change management and project work
  • Meets the statutory and organisational requirements for working with children, as per the
  • Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and MidCentral District Health Board policy, including a satisfactory police check and other safety checking processes.
  • DESIRABLE

  • Nursing Masters degree or willingness to achieve same

  • The ability to prioritise, organise, problem solve and the flexibility to consistently maintain a productive work environment

  • SALARY
    The annual salary for the appointment will be Grade 6 of the Senior Nurse and Midwife Salary Scale ($97,336 – $106,938).

    HOURS OF WORK
    Hours of work will be 40 per week, Monday to Friday.

    RELOCATION PACKAGE
    The successful candidate will be offered a relocation allowance of up to $5000 (NZ).
