About the team
Working from the Queenstown base in Frankton, the Lakes Community Mental Health team provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and monitoring of people identified as having moderate to severe mental illness and associated psychosocial issues.
About the role
Our Service is looking for a like-minded individual, to join our multi-disciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists, to work with people and their families / whanau to achieve the best outcomes for them and provide a wide range of psychological services.This will includes risk assessment, formulation and treatment planning and therapy skills.
You will be required to participate on an after-hours on call roster and be a DAO (Duly Authorised Officer), or undertake training. This call roster amounts to a maximum of 10 on call shifts per month.
You’ll be adept at working autonomously however you’ll be able to seamlessly contribute as a member of a wider multidisciplinary team and when appropriate, provide consultation to other health professionals within the organisation always striving to provide high quality care.
You’ll need to demonstrate effective clinical psychological assessment and intervention skills, and have experience working with people with moderate to severe mental illness. It goes without saying you will be a strong communicator, who is flexible with excellent organisational and time management skills.
To be considered you must be registered with the NZ Psychologists Board, with Clinical Scope and have an Annual Practising Certificate.You’ll also need to have a current full NZ driver’s licence (or again be eligible to transfer an international driver’s licence).
