The Team: What we do

We are seeking a Clinical Team Co-ordinator to provide clinical oversight for Specialist Mental Health Services across the division. Specialist Mental Health Service (SMHS) is the major provider of mental health services for the Canterbury District Health Board. The service aims to provide excellence of care for people with mental illness, ensuring their dignity, safety and independence. Services are provided at Hillmorton Hospital, The Princess Margaret Hospital, Christchurch community sites and Ashburton Hospital.

The Role: Where you fit in

The Clinical Team Co-ordinator (CTC) is a senior nursing role working in partnership with the Duty Nurse Managers to facilitate optimum care and coordinated multi-disciplinary team service delivery after hours for SMHS, to consumers and their families.

The CTC confidently provides advanced clinical care, leadership and co-ordination of the MDT and co-ordination of any emergency responses after hours.

This is a 0.7 FTE, permanent position, ideally starting 15th of December, and follows a three days on, three days off roster pattern.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A current NZ Nursing Registration and APC with a scope of practice that includes Mental Health
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Expert clinical nursing knowledge and leadership
  • A commitment to post graduate study either having completed or have commenced the post graduate pathway
  • Adherence to guidelines of Cultural Safety and the Treaty of Waitangi
