What you will do
 
As the Commercial Portfolio Manager – Defence Estate and Infrastructure you will provide procurement expertise across the Defence Estate and Infrastructure (DE&I) portfolio. They will develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies that optimise value to NZDF.

The Commercial Portfolio Manager has responsibility for directly advising DE&I’s senior leadership team and for overseeing the commercial work programme. The role is particularly focussed on supporting the Estate Regeneration investment programme and the most significant, complex and critical commercial events, contracts and supplier relationships within DE&I.
 
What we need
 
A senior procurement manager with demonstrated success in delivering procurement value, experience with a complex Estate and Infrastructure portfolio, as well as:

  • Familiarity with the infrastructure supplier market;
  • An authentic approach to supplier relationship management;
  • An understanding of the machinery of government and the protocols required for government procurement;
  • A successful track record as a leader of change;
  • Commercial acumen and well-developed negotiation skills;
  • A tertiary qualification or CIPS will be highly regarded.

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
