The New Zealand Customs Service protects and promotes New Zealand across borders, and is focused on border protection, trade and travel facilitation, and revenue collection. Its Communications and Channels Team provides high-quality external and internal communications advice, event and issue management, and undertakes public, media and stakeholder engagement.
The Communications Advisor will lead the management of internal and external events for Customs, and help provide strategic communications support to business units. The role will also have responsibility for managing enquires to the team, ensuring that all requests are appropriately actioned, reviewing all media coverage and preparing the daily report for key internal stakeholders, preparing the weekly communications reports, and facilitating the issuing and/or publication of external and internal announcements.
This role will suit an intermediate-level communications professional who is looking to further develop their skills and career experience.
Applicants are required to be permanent residents or New Zealand citizens. You must also be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The successful candidate will also be required to undergo a drug test.
