The opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi

The Communications Lead for the Auckland System Management (ASM) alliance helps define and develop a customer centric strategy, and delivers on the strategy.

You will prepare, deliver, evaluate and continuously improve the strategic approach outlined in the Communications and Engagement Management Plan. You will help us build an organisational culture and contribute to the future focus of the Alliance that ensures customers are integrated into everything that we do all whilst proactively identify and manage reputational risks to the Transport Agency. You will lead, develop and manage a small team of committed professionals.

About you | Ko koe tēnei

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing/communications/public relations
  • An accreditation in Public Relations and/or equivalent marketing accreditation would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing customer centric strategies integrated within strategic communications and engagement programmes
  • Proven experience in proactively identifying and managing reputational risks, preferably within a Central or Local Government organisation
  • Proven ability to build relationships with a diverse and complex range of staff leaders and stakeholders at all levels of the Transport Agency
  • Empathetic and collaborative partnering with affiliated organisations to identify and realise engagement opportunities that contribute to improved business outcomes
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills that leads to strengthened capacity in both what staff do and how they do it
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and experience presenting complex and strategic information clearly and simply
  • Sound knowledge of communication and engagement tools, techniques and channels
  • Financial and team management skills, preferably within a collaborative working environment
  • A role model and coach in specialist communications and engagement skills ie: event management, marketing communications, stakeholder engagement, change communications, who also promotes continuous learning in the field
