What you will do

As Construction Project Manager you’ll be accountable for managing an exciting variety of upcoming strategic projects largely based at Whenuapai and also across other NZDF Auckland locations. 

You’ll ensure successful implementation of business cases and manage projects within set tolerances as well as:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders and team members;
  • Manage key engagement with external construction and consultant partners;
  • Oversight the development, design and delivery of infrastructure and building projects;
  • Ensure forecasted benefits are realised;
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and wider network.

What we need

We’re looking for a positive and collaborative person to join our team. You will be motivated and proactive with effective and professional communication skills, can foster positive stakeholder relationships and have experience in the following:

  • Construction project management experience and skills;
  • Working understanding of relevant property legislation, infrastructure planning, and building consenting processes;
  • Ability to deal with complex issues and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills;
  • Computer literacy including project management tools.

Higher level Security Clearance

  • Most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last ten (10) years, OR
  • Is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one of more of the following countries for the last ten (10) years; either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
