Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the role

Judicial Libraries is seeking a Court Librarian for the Auckland District Court and Northern region.

This is a full-time position, working in the courts in the Northern region and within the wider Judicial Libraries team to deliver quality library and information services for Judges, judicial support and court staff.

It will be important for you to have:

  • an excellent service ethic
  • proven resilience in a changing environment
  • an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including judges, courts staff and Ministry staff

You will contribute to wider team projects focusing on improving our research, training, current awareness and collection management services.  Regular travel to other courts in your region is part of the role.

He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role you should possess:

  • expertise in information and legal research
  • excellence in collection management and development
  • experience in training users in legal resources, sometimes remotely
  • an understanding of tikanga and reo Māori, and the Treaty of Waitangi
  • a sound grasp of New Zealand’s constitutional arrangements and government and parliamentary processes
  • high level communication skills and an ability to build collaborative relationships
  • excellent computer skills.

Salary range is $61,744-$87,167
