The District Court is the largest Court in New Zealand. Most New Zealanders who go to court will go through the entire justice process in the District Court. Each year, 160 Judges in 58 courthouses deal with approximately 200,000 criminal, family, youth and civil matters. Due to the volume of cases, the Court Registry Officer focus may vary from District Court to District Court. You may be work across all jurisdictions, including criminal, civil, and family or focused on one.
As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders including defendants, witnesses, family members, Oranga Tamariki, Lawyers, and Police Officers. You will able to communicate confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary.

Starting salaries are generally between $48,853 and $57,473 and are dependent on skills and experience.
