The opportunity & responsibilities We are currently seeking a Customer Manager to join our Woolworths NZ team as our Foods & Ice Cream portfolio manager, based in Auckland on a 12-month contract. This is a rapidly moving, exciting portfolio with great brands including Streets Ice Cream, Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s (among others) that has been delivering record growth to the category for the last few years. The Customer Manager is responsible for the day-to-day tasks required to deliver the turnover, profitability, trade spend and market share targets within the respective portfolio whilst building, negotiating and executing a relationship and the commercial joint business plan with their Customer Buyer(s), their day to day contact. This opportunity will suit an individual with strong business acumen that is happy to get into the detail to continue to drive high performance. You will gain valuable experience working with Unilever, who is as a top tier supplier with Woolworths. Role Summary Delivery of Turnover, Customer Profitability and TTS budgets for allocated categories within Customer Channel Develop strong relationships with both internal (e.g. Category Manager, Shopper Insights Managers) and external customers (e.g. Category Managers, Trading Managers, Category Directors Buyers) In alignment with Customer Marketing Manager, deliver in store activation events as defined by company Pulse Plan. Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans with the Customer. Develop, negotiate, and deliver promotional plan within Customer. Day to day administration and evaluation of product portfolio e.g., Promotional Evaluation, inputs to wider business Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) etc. Identify, discuss, and agree Gap Filling initiatives with Category Team Lead range and merchandising reviews, working in collaboration with the internal Category team and Customer Buyers Work with Customer Director to develop and deliver Local Customer Strategy Plan for customer. Deliver key Category Team initiatives at Customer e.g., Price Changes, Brand Activation, NPD etc. Work with Customer Vendor Replenishment Planner and Unilever Supply Chain to ensure customer service issues are resolved efficiently. Own the short-medium-term volume and spend forecast aligned to S&OP process for their allocated super categories You will bring At least 4+ years of business experience, preferably cross-functional and customer facing FMCG experience Strong customer facing experience and proven track record is a must Proven stakeholder management/development capabilities Additional experience in Customer Marketing/Trade Category Management and Account Management / Field Sales or even Brand Building, Customer Marketing/Trade Category Management/Field Sales would be desirable. Most of all you will be a passionate about high performance and a team player.
