Primary responsibilities are ensuring the department achieves our “Living Safely” goals and financial targets whilst meeting or exceeding customer expectations. You will be responsible for managing a team of approx. 30 staff of which 4 are direct reports. There will be a strong focus on staff development, welfare and retention and ensuring that the Department’s strategy and vision is aligned with the overall Division. Creating a culture of high performance and accountability in a positive and sustainable environment is a clear goal.This position is based out of our Reliable Way office in Mt Wellington.What you will be responsible forEnsuring staff & subcontractors put safety at the forefront of everyday decision making when carrying out their daily tasksDevelop people to be the best they can beRetain and attract great peopleContinually improve, learn & lead changeEnsure department meets or exceeds budget profitEnsure departments revenue and costs are monitored and accurately recorded and processed within monthly deadlinesAchieve Customer Service ExcellenceBe a key contributor to the wider divisional transport strategyWhat we need from you Ideally, 5+ years experience in managing a business with revenue >$10m/ann (Ideally within Construction Industry)A successful track record in managing health and safety in a business with >30 staffA resilient mindset to manage competing priorities and demandsStrong communication and people management skills and the ability to cultivate strong business relationships on multiple levelsExposure to continuous improvement processes and methodologiesHigh degree of professionalism when engaging with internal and external stakeholdersExceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills along with strong systems knowledgeThe ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutionsFulton Hogan Philosophy We build and maintain critical infrastructure that connects and enhances communities across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
